YuMe, Nielsen and Horizon have launched research that explores emotional engagement with video advertising across smartphone, tablet, desktop, and linear television platforms. The study utilized neuroscience-based emotional biometric measurement and eye tracking techniques to understand the subconscious influence of video advertising and various platforms on emotional engagement as an indicator of performance. Results of the study show that while all platforms offer the potential for engagement, the intensity and moment of consumer engagement varies across devices, and that each device has unique emotional engagement patterns. Successful creative campaigns not only reach the right audience, at the right time and on the right device, but also foster emotional engagement. The next video advertising frontier will leverage insights from neuroscience to help advertisers devise campaigns that create emotional connections with brands. Measuring attention, receptivity and emotional engagement, neuroscientific research and biometric testing offers advertisers deep insights that can facilitate brand storytelling and personalization.

By now, we've all heard the news: The content apocalypse is upon us, and the days of finding success via content marketing are over. There's simply too much content being produced for it to be effective or garner engagement. Even worse, even the content that earns engagement does not get read, earn links or convert. Don't fall for this ruse. Content marketing, when done right, can be very effective. You'll learn how successful content marketers are using data, user insights and personalized content to find success, and how your brand can do the same.

Nearly every brand now has a presence on social, but having a presence is no longer enough. From bold and brassy content to well timed response strategies, the best brands move beyond witty banter and take social as a serious discipline. Andrew Caravella, VP of Marketing at Sprout Social, will highlight 9 brands—including Christian Louboutin, SoulCycle and charity: water—that have turned social into an art form.

The session will address ways to integrate social with other marketing and communications programs, dive into a diverse set of brand examples and offer suggestions on how to better:
• Develop a unique, engaging brand voice that resonates with your community
• Utilize visuals and multimedia to add dimension and depth to your storytelling
• Practice social customer care to not only resolve issues but build loyalty over time
• Encourage brand advocacy from customers, influencers and employees

GoPro video is often life unedited. What's compelling about GoPro footage is the perspective from which it's captured and authentic in-the-moment imagery. Storytelling begins the moment we press the capture button. And because our users capture so much, the challenge for GoPro's Software team is to help users tell and share stories from the highlights of their experience. This presentation will discuss the unique problems we solve post-capture, and the process for innovation within the Storytelling team.

While intent enables more effective targeting, many publishers are unable to capture this data in scale. Two forces seem to be doing battle in the world of Digital Products and Experiences: User Experience versus Speed to Market. Market studies have shown that digital products that start with solid UX Research and Design perform better than competitors that forgo this upfront planning. However, there is also research that shows that getting to market first is the single most important metric of success for many digital products. What to do with this conflicting information? Enter Lean UX: Using core concepts of Lean UX, Mr. Duimstra will show product and experience folks how to skip much of the UX documentation that bogs down projects, moving directly into prototypes and then iterations of the shipped product. They say "perfect" is the enemy of shipping, but you can get darn close to perfect by incorporating smart, fast UX. Examples from GoPro, Disney, Viper, Stride Rite, ProFlowers and more will illustrate how innovative companies are fighting this epic battle.

The word “transparency” has powerful connotations. It suggests that when we compare the information we receive with the information’s source, there should be no discrepancy, no sign of fudging or filtering.

Whether we’re talking about product information, company or industry statements about the quality of our foods and medicines, or assurances about the fundamental safety of our food and water, consumers need to demand full transparency.

Advancements in technology over the past ten years have enabled us to find and stay connected in real time with trusted sources of information.

Technology continues to evolve and drive change like we have never seen before and at a faster rate. It will take these technological advances to continue to figure out how we collectively feed the world, how we provide medicines to the world and how we protect the world’s natural resources.
